Heavy gradients and thick borders can make a page feel busy. For this site, I switched to flat cards with a thin border and a soft shadow.
The pattern is simple:
- A light border in a neutral gray.
- A small shadow that lifts on hover.
- Generous padding, usually around 24px.
- Consistent corner radius across the page.
Whitespace does most of the work. When content has room to breathe, the design looks clean without extra decoration.
