There’s a little Snake game nested on this site’s Projects shelf, and I’ve been racing my own high score every weekend. Free time well wasted.

What I love about it: the rules are three lines long. Eat, grow, don’t bite yourself. Everything else — speed ramps, little sound effects, that snap when you realize the edges wrap around — is decoration on a very honest idea.

Play keeps this work alive. A week of “serious” code goes down easier when you end it by guiding a pixel snake around a neon board you made yourself. If your evenings have been all pull requests lately, borrow an hour. Go be eight years old with a keyboard.

The high score to beat is mine. Good luck.
